The monothematic album Mozart by the exceptional Slovak mezzosoprano Jana Kurucová presents the arias and duets from the composer’s operas, while she sings here mostly the “breeches roles” as she performs the male characters, which used to be a common praxis of the then opera standard. Kurucová delights the listener with the brilliant vocal technique, colour and depth of rendering and unrivaled expression in the arias from Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, Così fan tutte, Idomeneo, La clemenza di Tito and others. The soprano Michaela Kušteková also participates in the album in duets. Jana Kurucová is accompanied by the State Chamber Orchestra Žilina led by Martin Leginus.
