Description
Le nuove musiche ensemble is devoted to the historically informed performance of the early Baroque, mostly Italian music on Baroque instruments. The ensemble specializes mostly in the era of monody – the time of origination and early development of opera. In this epoch first violin sonatas were also composed. The ensemble uses the copies of historical instruments like chitarrone (theorbo), Baroque guitar, violin, cello, viola da gamba, arpa doppia, etc. In addition to the performance of music on historical instruments Le nuove musiche pays attention to the research and presentation of works never heard in Slovakia before. In translation the name of the ensemble means “new music” and this expression manifests also the long-term goal of the ensemble: to stage historical, unknown or little known music – to present something new for the audience.
In 2020 Le nuove musiche performed in the Slovak Philharmonic concert hall and it regularly appears at festivals and concerts abroad, too (Poland, Czech Republic, Germany).
